The beautifully restored turn-of-the-century Arts Center, formerly known as the Alice Arts Center, is one of the area’s busiest performing arts facilities. Patrons can participate in a variety of arts programs or rent spaces for arts events and activities. Spaces available for rent include a 350-seat theater, five dance studios, meeting rooms and rehearsal spaces. This restored 1920s building is a popular multicultural, multidisciplinary performing-arts complex sponsored by the city. The 350-seat theater and five performance spaces showcase drama, ballet, and African and contemporary dance.
The Digital Arts and Culinary Academy (DACA) is a state of the art facility designed to give teens an opportunity to learn and grow, while having a good time with instructors and fellow members.
The Digital Arts and Culinary Academy’s mission is to help teens, aged 13 thru 16, grow and build self confidence through the learning of at least one of four components in our program: Digital Audio Production, Digital Video Production, Culinary Arts, or Urban Agriculture. Our goal is to help our youth excel and create a better life and community for themselves and others.
We offer two programs and a host of what we call Intensive Classes. Please go to the “Programs” page for detailed information about our programs and intensive classes.
Over the past year we have had a lot of requests by parents and others for a few adult oriented classes. So, new for the 2014 Summer Season are a few Adult Summer Intensive Classes.
Mosswood Park is nestled on four acres of green between West and North Oakland.
